Manufacture - history of Egregia

We made our pieces following the workmanship handed down during the time by able Tuscan artisans practised in reproduction of classic sculptures, busts and figures of personages, animals, religious articles.

In over 40 years of activity,  the factory has transformed according the different requirements of the market and with the purpose to update and improve the process of production, but remaining always faithful to the Italian artisan manufacture.

We made our pieces…to the Italian artisan manufacture. Each piece is entirely hand-fineshed. The slight differences that may be noticed in our products don’t reduce their value but rather testify their artisan workmanship.

Our Articles:

• Reproductions of  classic statues (works by Michelangelo, Botticelli, Canova, Donatello, Cellini, Allegrain, Rodin and some Egyptian model).
• Modern models (female figures, dancers, putto).
• Busts and figures of musicians, men of letters and historic personages (Beethoven,  Mozart, Wagner, Bach, Chopin, Verdi, Napoleone, Goethe, Schiller).
• Religious, busts and figures, angels, fonts, bas-relief, (Our Lady of Fatima, the Immaculate Conception, St. Michael, St. George, St. Francis).
• Columns, vases, chess sets and chess board,  in several sizes.

As witness of the sculptors’ works of Volterra, the factory has got a large collection of models of animals, (elephants, horses, eagles, lions, doves, owls) and oriental articles like divinities and Arabian, Chinese, Japanese gentlemen and ladies.

The material used allows to paint the pieces with decorations and “patina” handmade. It is possible to cover the pieces with metal (for instance bronze) through the galvanization. The production includes also the manufacturing of several models of fountains for gardens.

Besides the articles of the catalogue, the factory is able to make pieces on demand, as all the manufacturing process, from the model of clay to the finished piece, takes place inside the factory, thanks to the work of a highly qualified staff.
